Melbourne Flue Cleaning was setup in 2015 by Mark Lennon with the help of his cousin Craig Smith who has a heater sales and service business in Bairnsdale, Victoria.
Mark’s background started with experience at a young age as in his teens when he got onto go karts then motorcycles stripping and rebuilding engines and chassis for dirt bikes and later road bikes. By the time he was a young man Mark started then completed an aircraft maintenance engineering apprenticeship with QANTAS in Sydney where he grew up. After many years in various industries and a lifetime of mechanical repair and fabrication work, he has landed with this business resolving many problems and issues he finds with wood heaters.
In 2015, Mark started servicing, repairing and enhancing the French Phillippe Cheminees wood heaters (considered to be the Ferrari of the wood heater world) along with many other brands of heaters for the Abbotsford based Wignells of Melbourne. Over the years Mark has worked for many wood heater retailers along with real estate agents in and around Melbourne and outlining areas. Along with the referred work from these businesses, Mark receives many referrals from existing customers as well as repeat work. Mark integrated the Flowerdale based “Local Chimney Sweep” business this year taking over from Luke Van Den Berk.
Mark is a problem solver and fixes or enhances things that are broken or not working correctly so that they do work correctly. A lot of Mark’s first time call out work involves more than just a flue sweep as many heaters have issues with incorrectly installed flues, damage from water ingress including warped baffles, broken bricks and worn door seals. Mark has a fully stocked van including full stainless steel anti-downdraft storm cowls along with other heater parts and equipment to repair most issues on the day.
This last decade has seen Mark in the wood heater field, servicing and repairing all brands including the high-end European brands.
Mark is Based in Maidstone, Melbourne but travels all over Melbourne and to regional Victoria.
